2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR  PANTRY DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE

ABOUT THE PANTRY

The AHS Pantry opened in November 2018 to support the more than 65% of AHS students and their families who experience food insecurity.

We offer bi-monthly family distributions as well as twice weekly student distributions as well as emergency needs and gift cards for emergency situations that are tracked and distributed with our AHS clinical staff.

We have partnerships with Food for Others and Fairfax Diaper as well as other Community businesses, neighborhoods, girl scout troops and churches.

The pantry is solely supported through monetary and in-kind food donations.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ACCESS THE PANTRY?

Any AHS student or AHS family who has need.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

If you are in need of emergency food assistance contact the main office at 703-642-4100 to be directed to a member of the AHS staff who can help or email the pantry.

WANT TO HELP?

Volunteer:

  1. Sign-up to Help On Distribution Days: 5 people are needed to run a successful distribution.  Previous experience is not necessary and on-the-job training will be provided!  In addition to the volunteers, there will always be a pantry coordinator on site to help. For more information visit the Pantry Distribution Sign-Up Genius.
  2. AHS PTSA Pantry - Food For Others Pick-up: Do you have an hour to help the pantry one or two afternoons a month? Do you have a SUV or minivan?  Our community partner, Food For Others is providing the Annandale High School PTSA Food Pantry with fresh food items and we need help delivering the items twice a month to the pantry for distribution. For more information visit the

COMING SOON—A Garden!

We are digging in and breaking ground on a garden!

We have a goal to bring farm-to-table produce to our students and families who access the pantry with a sustainable garden at Annandale High School to supply fresh produce to the AHS PTSA Pantry each growing season and from year to year, as well as create a positive collaborative experience for our AHS students, families, clubs, and staff.

Our goal is to start preparing the soil in the designated courtyard as soon as possible to be in the position for planting in the spring.

Donations to the garden start up can be made here.
