Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Annandale High School for the 2022-2023 school year!

If this is your first time with a student at Annandale, you will soon learn that the Annandale High School community is amazing. We have an incredibly diverse student body, dedicated teachers and administrators, and parents and guardians invested in their student’s success.

Our community is large – with over 2,100 students and more than 250 teachers, administrators, and support staff – but there are ample opportunities to connect with each other. Please encourage your student to explore the variety of clubs, sports teams, and activities that Annandale has to offer. Not only are extracurricular activities valuable learning experiences; they also provide an opportunity to make friends and memories that can last long past high school.

Parents and guardians can support students by being involved in their high school experience. Annandale’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) makes it easy. Through the PTSA you can connect with other parents, teachers, and administrators; learn information relevant to you and your student(s); share your input; and be involved as much (or as little) as you would like with PTSA events and programs offered throughout the year for our community. You can read more about the PTSA on our website or on our Facebook page.

To join the PTSA, click here. The dues for a parent/guardian are $15 for the year (and go towards supporting PTSA enrichment programs). PTSA meetings are once a month during the school year – generally the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Members are not required to attend the meetings, but we encourage you to do so to learn first hand what is happening at Annandale and to connect with other members.

Our first meeting this school year will be on Tuesday, September 20, at 7:00 pm. I hope you can join us. In the meantime, please reach out to me directly at president@annandalehsptsa.org if you have any questions or would like additional information.

I look forward to working with you this year!

Annamaria Nields, AHS PTSA President
