2017-2018 PTSA Student Representatives

 

The Role of Student Representative:

Be a leader and a voice for the student body as part of the Annandale High School PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) Executive Board. The PTSA membership is composed of parents, teachers, school administrators, staff and students. The AHS PTSA exists to support the students, families, staff, and community of Annandale High School. As a student representative on the PTSA, you will be expected to:

 

1.Conduct polls at grade levels on agreed upon topics and report back to the PTSA Board.

2.Voice issues or concerns of students of a particular grade level.

3.Bring to the attention of the PTSA significant events or issues happening at the grade level, school orcommunity.

4.Be prepared to discuss issues and ask questions of the school administrators and the PTSA Board members.

5.Share with the PTSA Board significant accomplishments of clubs, sports teams or classmates.

6.Participate in PTSA sponsored events which will award volunteer hours (Pyramid Resource Fair,Mulch Sale, All Night Grad Celebration (ANGC), Back to School Night, Staff Appreciation events, etc.)

7.A leadership certificate will be awarded to those students who actively participate and a letter ofappreciation for outstanding service will be added to their school record. Attendance at a minimum of 3 PTSA meetings/events is expected, there are approximately 8 formal PTSA meetings scheduled for the year, number of events vary.

 

Criteria for Selection:

1.Students need to be PTSA members and be in good standing. Any student can apply.

2.Selection will be made by a Committee of PTSA Board Members and Faculty (applicant names will bewithheld from the selection committee).

3.Fill out the attached form and return to the school front office (Attenion: VP-Programs AHS PTSA).
